Zijia Li, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in St. Vincent Hospital on June 4, 2022 after being diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and acute lung inflammation. He was born in Nantong, Jiangsu province, China on October 1, 1938 to the late Weiyu Li and Cuiyun Shen. He was married to his wife, Lianfang Li, for 55 years.
Zijia moved to the United States in 2014 to stay with his children. He was highly respected by his friends for his care, help, and friendship with others. Once Zijia settled down here, he quickly joined his senior living community and served as the leader of many activity groups. He often contributed his time to prepare materials for the senior chorus performances and other activities. His apartment often served as the gathering place for his friends. If any of his friends needed his help for troubleshooting electrical appliances or mechanical devices, he was always happy to lend a hand. Zijia was a very disciplined and intelligent person. He acted as a role model for his children and grandchildren in respecting rules, and learning hands-on skills.
Zijia is survived by his beloved wife, Lianfang; daughter, Mei; son, Yong; son-in-law, Jiansheng; daughter-in-law, Xuqian; and grandchildren, Annie, Haoyang, Andy, and Daniel.
