H. Bruce Kimball
Carmel City Councilman representing the West District and a passionate supporter of Carmel’s cycling community died on December 30, 2022, at the age of 70.
Born on October 25, 1952, to the late Jackson and Dorothy Kimball in Lebanon, Ohio, Bruce was a graduate of Lebanon High School (Lebanon, OH) and Hanover College with a degree in Geology. Bruce was a member of Carmel Lion’s Club, Lambda Chi Fraternity, was active with the Carmel Dad’s Club, a former board member and volunteer for the Carmel Farmer’s Market and a founding member of the Carmel City Center Community Development Corporation.
A geologist by education, Bruce spent his career in Industrial Sales, Wholesale and Retail Mortgage Lending and lastly as a real estate agent.
He is survived by his son, Patrick (Jennifer) Kimball, sister-in-law, Laura Kimball; niece, Katie (David) Lang, and devoted friend, Cindy Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jackson Geoffrey Kimball, and Martin Alan Kimball.
Services will be private. On Tuesday, January 3 between 3-4pm a procession will go through the Central District of Carmel, with a stop at Carmel City Hall at 3:30pm, in honor of the community that Bruce served and fought to enhance during his tenure.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bike Carmel. Checks may be made out to City of Carmel, with Bike Carmel listed on the memo line.
